I'm extremely proud to have my first professional lighting design "Impotent" at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town. Written by Tv's Matt Reed, Directed by Graham Hubbard (Associate on West End; Pricilla, Sweeney Todd, Sound of Music) and Produced by MichaelOliverProductions. ITV Studios - The National Lottery Awards

I went along for the day, shadowing mainly the lighting designer and his team. It was a brilliant, all-round experience of live TV, and seeing the whole show come together was interesting, from putting up tables to watching the live broadcast.

Lighting Design - Guildhall Christmas Festival 2012

Image:

The Barbican Weekender

The Barbican Weekender had a theme of natural circuits, and my AV lecturer (Dan Shorten) created an interactive video installation which I assisted on. We had 2x Panasonic LCD Projectors, running visual content from isadora. The installation used custom iPad applications and touch OSC technology to allow the audience to interact with the content in unique ways.

London 2012 Paralympic Opening & Closing Ceremonies

This summer I completed an internship with the lighting design company behind the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies. Working alongside Patrick Woodroffe and his team, I assisted in a wide variety of responsibilities which ranged from making the tea to operating the smoke during the live broadcast. Needless to say it was an amazing experience, and I feel very privileged and proud to have been part of it.

International Student Drama Festival (ISDF)

Image:

This summer I took myself up to Sheffield for the International Student Drama Festival, a multi-cultural event held across various theatres and venues in the city. I had an absolute blast, and met some amazing people, and I'm hoping to return for many years to come. As a member of the technical crew, I helped in all areas of the technical side of the festival, from shifting steel deck up a flight of stairs, to operating the lighting for one of the shows - it was a real mix bag!
